A range of community groups and organisers attended the recent Groups Networking Together event in Brechin City Hall.

Ulrik Westen-Jensen from the National Lottery Community Fund presented a helpful overview of the different streams of funding programmes available for community groups, and the application process for each.

Victoria Gibbons, from Angus Council provided a useful overview of local grants, how to apply successfully for funding and shared her own experiences of applying for funding via her volunteer role as Treasurer of DD8 Music who held the recent successful Bon Fest musical weekend in Kirriemuir.

Our booklet on ‘Tips to Getting People Involved’ proved popular too!

Here’s what we heard

“The event helped me to increase my understanding as a new member of a community group in Brechin.”,

“We can now make progress with our funding applications and follow up chats have been arranged.”

Many thanks to Brechin City Hall Trustees for looking after us so well.  The venue is looking well cared for.
