Come along and talk to the Public Transport Unit about your transport needs, how your community can help and how other rural communities tackle this age-old problem. See www.ruralwisdom.org for more details

Following on from the success of our Let’s Talk Housing event, Rural Wisdom and Perth & Kinross Council are hosting an event to discuss transport – another key issue for rural communities. Jill Davies, Rural Wisdom Development Worker said:

“The event has been organised to allow local people living in the Highland Perthshire area to speak face to face with The Public Transport Unit from Perth and Kinross Council about their transport needs. There are lots of activities led by volunteers and activities in local village halls. However, some people have no way of getting there.”

A new volunteer transport group from Killin will be at the event.  They will talk about how they recognised the gap in transport to becoming a SCIO with a bank of registered drivers. There are Council Community buses based at Breadalbane Community Campus and support to train MIDAS drivers.

It will be held in Breadalbane Community Library, Aberfeldy on Tuesday 30th October from 2-6pm.

Once again, we have produced a newsletter around this topic, which you can read here: http://ruralwisdom.org/2018/10/24/lets-talk-transport-newsletter/
